on a related subject...

been activated for a couple of days and my bt speedtest shows :

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 3000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 3904 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2735 kbps

Is this normal for an initial profile and how long would it typically be before it changes (upwardly) while training ?

Downstream margin of 3dB is very low:eek:, I would expect it keeps dropping out?

beagle - it will rise to 7150 as thats the max and you are connected at full 8128 so it should come up soon :)

davey- that profile is actually correct for your line :)

Is my IP profile being stuck at 3Mb related to the distance to my exchange ?

From my exchange status page...
"You are around 3.24 kilometres from your exchange (as the crow flies)."

or is it something to do with the crow ? :D

How much do ADSL24 charge for an upgrade to say.... a kestrel ?

I'm just glad it isn't a magpie... me being a Mackem ! :D

Always been a big fan of replacing the Crow, maybe a Golden Eagle or something, not sure what their wages are though. How do we know the Crow has a sense of direction?

Glad to see some people gettin IP profiles sorted, mine still stuck at 2meg after a month of max :(
