My speedtouch 585v6 has been on all the time since the night before my activation, 13 days now. It has just lost connection I got "network unplugged" it wasn't but it just connected again on it's own with no intervention from me. :confused

Strage - usually the sign of

a) The ethernet cable is faulty
b) The network card is faulty
c) The particular port you are plugged into on the router is faulty
d) The router is dying!

If it doesn't do it again - don't worry. Oh, it could also have been the router restarting for some reason.

thats normal.
If the router looses sync, then Windows XP will display a network cable disconected message. When the router then regains sync, the message will then disappear.

Nothing to worry about.

DaJaMa - incorrect. Windows has no way of knowing what state the ADSL port on the router is up to. It only displays the "Network unplugged" message if it *is* unplugged or the router is faulty as mentioned above.

well if I'm using either my USB BT voyager 105 or my Speedtouch 585, whenever sync is lost I get the Cable is unplugged message. Never see the message any other time (other than if I do pull the cable out).

And I remember when I used to post on the AOL message boards, there used to be a lot of people saying the same message comes up. After asking what their SNR margin was, I nearly always got a value that is pretty low (which leads me to think they got the message because their router/modem resynced because of a low SNR).

Then your router must be rebooting completely rather than losing sync - as no router does that (trust me ;))
