Is it right for ISP's to ask their customers to go to rating sites and submit good ratings for them.

Don't worry, I am not talking about this ISP, the one I have come from I mean, they MASS emailed out for people to read a forum topic, which was in the members only area for around 16 hours then deleted. It did the job, they had over 100 ratings given that day, and it jumped them two places on the list upwards

maybe a slight exaggeration, but they had a HUGE amount of entries in that one day, compared to others, it just does not seem far thats all

It's certainly not right to explicitly ask for good ratings IMHO.

Have replied mate, unfortunatley the topic does not exist anymore. And my PM and members areas privelleges have been withdrawn.

Me and Martin had a disagreement......he didnt like me talking about the royal family in a negative manner. Or Iraq at all.....so I kinda lost it with him.....

But to be honest, the evidence speaks for itself, I received the email on the 7th June, now Aquiss had a comment maybe every few days...take a look at the comments made on the 7th june

the customer support is by far the best ive had from any ISP and ive been with at least 10 over the years

the community itself is another reason why the isp is so good .. lots of helpfull ppl . most of the time any problems are uaually supported on the forums by either the dedicated staff or helpfull customers

87.127.74.** As part of the Entanet network which now sports 5 centrals to provide you with lightening fast DSL speed and reliability is something that is difficult to question.

I joined aquiss in its infancy and have watched its customer base expand through excellent support and a very welcoming community. I have seemed to use the support line far more than with other ISP's simply because its so efficent.

Iv been very impressed and will remain with Aquiss having considered the various other companies around.

87.127.75.*** Much like any ISP on the face of things but in the the 8 months of service I have received the speed has generally been very good especially since christmas, what really sets Aquiss apart is the support. I have phoned up support 3 times so far and each time I have waited no longer than 5 minutes to talk to someone and they've always been very helpful especially considering that 2 out of 3 times the problem was my router or my BT exchange! I Would not consider any other ADSL provider.

I would think that would be frowned upon, wouldn't that just be like prompting people for good feedback on eBay and not returning until you do?

I dont know mate, I dont have too much faith in ratings, I prefer to come into the actual forum and see what people are/are not complaining about. But in the wide scheme of things, there are going to be people who do rely on such rating lists, oh well...each to their own I guess.

I remember asking for a reminder, and being told that they couldnt do it because it would not be "proper" to suggest, which is fair enough, but I guess someone forgot to remove my email from the mailing list.

I'm quite sure plenty do, myself I found ADSL24 from ISPreview. But I'm sure not everyone will find a good site like that to find ISPs.
