How wierd is this?

About 3 weeks ago I was syncing ok at 8128kbps but from then till now my sync speed dropped to approx 6000kbps and my line attenuation went from 36.9 to 37.1.


It was bugging me as every time I rebooted the router (after 24hrs), the speed kept dropping in increments of 100-200kbps..... so I decided to have a play with the master box......


Took apart the box and recut and re-stripped the wiring.... connected it all back up and now im syncing at 8128kbps again straight away...... but my line attenuation is still 37.1.

Is this normal or am I just being a flukey fussy arse?

Sometimes just by cleaning the contacts or removing hte wire and putting it back in can freshen up the connection and thus get your speed back :)

Line attenuation of 37.1 is no worse than 36.9. It's so minimal - like 0.00001%

D'oh..... i think I've just realised the problem......

My desk is tight up against the master box.... and I was trying to tidy up the wiring and as a result I placed a 6 gang extension lead between the wall and the desk ontop of the master box.... d'ohhhhhh!!!
