Hi there,

I've finally found the stats/info for my Speedtouch 510 v6 ethernet router:

"Uptime: 0 days, 9:37:02
Modulation: G.992.1 Annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 7,616
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [KB/KB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 11.5 / 19.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 10.0 / 16.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 22.0 / 16.5
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB /
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 28
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0"

So, the obvious question is - are these stats any good, or more or less how they 'should' be?

cheers,

Spot on, although Interleaving is on the line and you don't need this. We can turn it off if you like, for a higher SYNC speed (8128 as opposed to 7616) and better latency.

Hi James,

Yes, please turn off "Interleaving" (whatever that is!) - not that I am a speed freak or anything.

cheers,

Hi,

I've noticed that I'm still Interleaved - any idea when I'm going to be unInterleaved?

cheers,

It usually takes 24-48hrs so I'll see what I can do. What is actually showing you as being Interleaved?

Hi James,

When I go to My Account/Max Reports I see the following:

"As of 8th June 2007, we have added a new field to the table below (IP profile)
This will show you the IP profile that your line is on according to a change in your SYNC speed.

Product SYNC speed IP profile Interleaved Date
BT IPStream Max 7392 6500 Auto 03/07/2007"

I've presumed, perhaps falsely, that all means that I am still Interleaved ("auto"). But, of course, I could be completely wrong!

Any enlightenment always appreciated,

itsonlydanny

I have Interleave turned off but the Account / Max Reports still indicate auto.

If you look in the BT status page you will see a "Modify" entry that will indicate when a modification and when it was carried out has been completed. (Interleaving Change) :)

Your router should also report whether interleaving is switched on or not - look for something like Channel Mode or Downstream Path Mode. If it says Fast, interleaving is switched off.

Yep, it looks like Interleaving has been turned off! So:

"IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6416 kbps"

Definitely faster than it was! Also, under 'BT Status' there is an entry for today's date which says 'Modify - Completed'. Good stuff :)

cheers,
