View Full Version : Email Problems
Good Evening,
I don't seem to be getting any email delivered to my ADSL24 email address from my domain. Is it set to reject forwarded email or something?
I have sent emails to my domain email address from gmail and hotmail but nothing arrives at the ASDL24 email address.
It may be a problem at my domain side of things and i have just emailed them.
Error i got from bounced gmail email is:
Technical details of permanent failure:
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 13): 550 relay not permitted
Any ideas?
Can you send me a PM with the e-mail address you are sending to?
James
I just sent a test message to you and it's not even reaching our server, so it's likely to be something amiss in your domain configuration. Who hosts the domain, and if it's not us, you could let us host the domain for you for free, and then you can have proper e-mail accounts on that domain rather than forward it to your .username.adsl24.co.uk inbox?
James
Aha, when sending directly to your ADSL24 e-mail address there is an error in your mail filters. I have removed this invalid filter and everything should now work.
James
Well not sure how easy it would be to move James, the domain is only used for email purposes but it's with Telivo, I have a good few domains there. It usually works well.
http://www.telivo.com/
Very easy, in your Telivo control panel just change the nameservers to ours, and we do the rest. you still renew it through Telivo, but we host it.
James
Hmmmm i will investiagate, i don't remember seeing any name servers anywhere :D
Oh yes i see a section now for it.
Go on then James let's see if i can make a pigs ear of it. :D
If you wish us to host it, change the nameservers to:
Primary: dns1.adsl24.co.uk
Secondary: dns2.adsl24.co.uk
Then we can add the domain to our sercer and tie it to your account. You can then manage it via cPanel and create e-mail accounts based off that domain etc.
James
Excellent James, it is asking for both name server IP addresses as well
84.234.17.150 and 84.234.17.153
The domain name ***********.co.uk has been successfully re-delegated to the following nameservers:
Name: dns2.adsl24.co.uk IP: 84.234.17.153
Name: dns1.adsl24.co.uk IP: 84.234.17.150
Please allow 24hrs for the updates to appear in Whois queries.
Thanks you James that's it on the go now.
I've already added it :) Go in your cpanel and add an e-mail account etc :)
James
LOL good grief im getting millions of my missing emails now, can't thank you enough James many thanks indeed, now that's what i call service.
OK a little confused here (not hard) is it now linked to my adsl24 account or what smtp / pop servers do i need to add for my newly created account for my domain.
OK James i worked it all out now, it was explained in the configuration panel what the details should be.
Thanks for all your help.
It is possible for me to change more domains myself James and not pester you?
Will the add domain section in the control panel do it after i change the name servers at telivo?
I'm not wanting to be greedy but its working well and i'd like everything to be in the one place. :p
Ah never mind i see that only 1 parked domain is allowed. I guess that's fair as it is free after all. :D

James will allow more than one domain to be hosted, but they all have to point to the same webspace.
Yes i had noticed that when he added a domain yesterday for me, the web address changed to my adsl24 account webspace wich is fine for email use but not for the website side of things. So i had to remove it. :(
Time for some new ADSL24 hosting packages me thinks.
I'm glad I found this thead as it saves me from starting my own - I have a me.uk domain which is hosted by Telivo as well, and since I set up the forwarding to go to my brand spanking new ADSL24 account I haven't received anything either.
I'll check my settings later...
Have you actually contacted us to add your domain to your account. Just by pointing the domain to us won't work :)

Erm, no, actually, I haven't, which is why you haven't seen a reply moaning about drowning in a sea of emails... :(
What's the preferred contact method?
Just drop a ticket in :)
On its way.
And so to bed... :p
Just as a closer - it's alive!!!
:D
