Tiscali (surprised?)

Im fed up of not being able to do anything at peak times, no online gaming, no https, no email, no downloading... and im not even on their FUP pipe.

Before I make a desicison on a new ISP I have a few questions:

What is your view on p2p? Do you throttle it ? Getting 10kb/s with tiscali here

I've read on some posts, there might be slow downs after 10pm, with people downloading off peak (including me:P) how are the pings at this time? I often play games up until 2 am.... and like to download a few gigs over night. Can you englighten me on what happens with speeds/pigsns after 10pm

Migration from tiscali, i am on ipstream... i take it that migration is free?

Migrating in - When will you be able to accept MAC codes online? I want the transfer to go as smooth as possible and am not home until around 6-7 every day.

A: Nope.

A: My pings here are around 18 to 21ms any time of the day.

Q: Migration from tiscali, i am on ipstream... i take it that migration is free?

A: Yes free.

A: Depends on the package your after. If you go over your limits Entanet will charge you the differance between your current package and the next package up and an additional £5 plus vat admin fee.

A: jolt for me is 19 to 21ms, see my other post.

A: 1 month contract with 1 months notice to quit.

A: We have never, ever past on details like this to anyone and thats only done in extream cases.

Q: Email - I cant seem to find where you can log in to email etc, this would be quite important for my family as they regularly use the tiscali webmail, not so much for me as i have my own email@mydomain

A: We provide webmail and you can access email via Outlook etc.

Q: Migrating in - When will you be able to accept MAC codes online? I want the transfer to go as smooth as possible and am not home until around 6-7 every day.

A: The migration script is put on the back burner for now until a fix is found, if the time is a problem thats easy, PM me your number and I will call you back in the evening.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply... amazing :D

Im confused about how i actually sign up now.... do i sign up online and telehpone you the MAC or do i do it all over telehpone?

Also... Do we have to contact entanet ourselves to set up direct debit... or do you do it when we gives you the details?

When will the migration script be back up? I will probably wait a while before migrating... just to make sure im making the right choice. I got into the tiscali mess by jumping into the fire after seeing "Unlimited Broadband for only £17.99" ... wierd thing is... i even saw reviews on them and i still joined :( Thats how desperete i was to get on broadband:D too many years on dial-up:(


As for the usage, Highest ive used is 70gb on tiscali... I would download most junk overnight to be courteous to other users. But I like the freedom of being able to get stuff whenever i want them... with tiscali i have to wait until 2am to start a download... then its shaped again at 8am :(

Regarding the DD we send that as an attachment along with your login details etc in the email we send out.

Your free to what you wish as long as your a good boy and stay within your bandwidth limits :)

Btw, i think you should fix the migration script ASAP, people seem to like easy.. click click.. type done... type migrations and could be put off by having to wait for calls etc. I can get a load of tiscali customers signing up to you, theres something like a hate tiscali club formed at the forums and I could send them here :P = more money for you and better service for them. I have several friends all on tiscali, all unhappy and would probably follow me to here. What is wrong with the script? I'm no expert at that stuff but i have learnt a few tricks in my time building websites :D

i tried the forum request...got one...didnt work,was rejected by ukonline,this was when i started t find out about the LLU woes.
[admit it was a blessing as i found this place now]
then they stopped forum MAC`s

tried the email request...no answer after 2 months.

tried the cancellations,still trying,still cannot get through.

tried the FUP method,but speeds so slow i cant build up enough bandwidth to activate it.

tried the download of game demo,grabbed a 1 gig demo 8 times ???,got one FUP.

the mrs hasn`t cancelled the DD yet,as she just told me.
she`s scared of having our credit rating affected.

sent a comlaint to BT,watchdog and ofcom,explaining that they are refusing me a MAC by sheer ignorance,no replys yet.

costing me a fortune in indian call centers,as i have to call a mate over who speaks thier language and that costs me a take away everytime :D


bloody joke of it all is that if i spit out of my back door,i`ll hit the local exchange building :p

ps....just read this at that link...

If you have a problem with a "tag" on your line (an existing broadband service you can't cancel as you don't know who it's with thus blocking the ordering of a new service) you can contact BT Wholesale on 0800 169 0934 who may be able to remove it for you. Clearly this is only available to the account holder of the line
so thats what i`ll do tomorrow morning.

methinks shes sick of my profanity when sat with a phone glued to my head for half an hour at a time.
anyway,she soon moans when i cant get at her PAID FOR service to dload her supernatural episodes.
