View Full Version : Hello ^^
Hello everyone!
Just registered with ADSL24, Looking forward to my connection on 13th Feb too!
I'm still with tiscali until that date, and left them because of their traffic shaping & port blocking - intermittent speeds :/
But I've just found something through another forum which has given me cause for concern http://www.uk-bug.net/Article1427.html
Could anyone enlighten me on this please?
Thanks :)
Naaa dont worry about that, its not a throttle think of it this way.
Just imagin if everyone connects and used Entenets services all at the same time, everyone will complain about slow speeds etc.
They have install software that will restict a connection a we bit until the pipes are not running at 100% and everyone get a fair crack at the whip so to speak. Once the loads have decreased the software will start to increase again and everyones happy.
Better than having a ap put in place and running at 100% of the time and its a fair system in my opinion.
Regards,
Thanks for that Brian, seems fair to me too :)
Welcome to ADSL24 JayP:D
Hope all goes well on the 13th

Welcome to Adsl24 JayP.
If Entanet hadn't implemented the anti-loss tool, packet loss would occur when a central reached maximum utilisation, and speeds would drop as a result in any case. Don't forget that they have 2 more centrals on order to keep up with the growth in demand.
