View Full Version : ADSL24 Service Enquiry
Hi there,
I am currently on Nildram Broadband2 ADSL plan at 8mb speeds. I seem to get good download rates but it fluctuates alot, and i am also a vivid gamer. I dont play countless hours of it, but sometimes it can be problemous ping wise. Im wondering anyone on ADSL24 could provide me with a ping result from 85.236.101.79 which is a Multiplay UK server. What are the download rates like here? If i was to switch i think i would go onto Home MAX 30, as i dont tend to use that much bandwidth in peak times. Also does ADSL24 have its own broadband pipeline as i think Nildram uses Pipex pipelines etc and its not too good. Many thanks.

Hi Jack,
Adsl24 are an Entanet (www.enta.net) reseller - they currently have 3 centrals, and have 2 more on order.
Ah ok many thanks Tim. What are Entanet like compared with Nildram then? Good solid download rates? Im only like 600m from the exchange in my area so i should be able to get good stability and speed? Cheers.
Jack

Hi Jack....Welcome to ADSL24
I left Nilly in Dec 06 and what a difference, its like the Nilly of old before Pip the Hof squeezed the life out of it. (Was with nilly for over 4 years and the email account is still active).Gaming pings are below 30.
I am on Max 30...you will find uploads as well as downloads go towards your usage. The 30gig usage runs from 8:00am-22:00pm Mon-Fri.The off-peak is 300gig allowance.
Regards
Cliff:)
Thanks for the info :). Well 30 gigs is still good, i mean thats still alot of data and i mean at the mo i hardly even reach 10 gigs at peak times so it should all be fine :). Yeah Pipex have ruined Nilly, i didnt know adsl24 existed until i saw it in DSLZone :P. Just so you know i have requested a MAC so i should be on my way very soon ;)
Jack
Hi Jack91
I requested my mac by phone, they gave the MAC in 2min whilst still on the phone. If you DD your payments they will either subtract it from your final payment or credit you back any money owed to your bank. The 30 days notice starts from when you receive your MAC.
Hope this help...look forward to you movin in:D
Cliff:)
Well i requested it by phone earlier today, and you can no longer get MAC codes over the phone. Its request by email only at customerretention@nildram.net. How stupid is that? I phoned twice to make sure incase the 1st person i spoke to was wrong but i wasnt, its a terrible idea
Must be loosing a lot of customers....Maybe the staff are receiving the brunt of abuse from unhappy customers.
Feel sorry for the staff...they were always helpful and polite
Cliff:)
