Okay, you all know I haven't a clue when it comes to broadband and the things that go with it, right? So you'll not be surprised to see I've got a few more daft questions.

Been connected now at a speed of roughly 5.1 for quite a few days. No disconnection, everything okay that I know of.

Downloaded a file with bit torrent today, and seemingly after that something's happened. My router lights have been flashing faster, the ethernet one for a while but it seems stable at the moment, and the internet one is flashing a lot more than usual.

Looking at the stats page, I've aparently been disconnected, as my dsl days/hours are back to minutes. I'm also down to roughly 4.6 instead of 5.1.

Should I worry? Anything I need to do? I can live with the 4.6 connection... after all, I was on 1.1 with tiscali, lol.

Thanks.

Nope, doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem, as most lines do fluctuate between around 1Mb depending on the time of day and noise on the line. If it was to drop a lot, say 1-2Mb, then there would be cause to investigate. You will probably find it comes back up :)

Thanks James. Both lights are flashing a lot right now, but I'm trying to ignore them, lol. It's been constant at 5.1 almost since I started with you guys, and the disconnection I don't understand, but if it's nothing major, I can live with it. :)

If both the Ethernet and Internet LEDs are blinking, that indicates that a device on your LAN is accessing the Internet.
