Hey there!

It's simple. Screenshot your desktop, upload it to some place like ImageShack.us which provides thumbnails (avoids forum width stretching) and post it.

I find it interesting, and find that alotta people have some cool wallpapers too, mines pretty bland at the moment - need a new one... Also tend to find someone left there porn folder on the desktop for a screenshot too sometimes, haha. ;)

ImageShack.us (http://www.imageshack.us/) ;)

Or, you could just sign up to Hotmail UK (https://signup.live.com/hmnewuser.aspx?mkt=en-gb&revipc=GB&ts=4008105&sh=V5S7&hm=1&ru=http%3a%2f%2fmail.live.com%2f%3fnewuser%3dyes&rx=http%3a%2f%2fget.live.com%2fmail%2foverview&rollrs=04&lic=1) or Google Mail (http://mail.google.com/mail/signup) for a free mail account and just let that be your 'spam/crap' e-mail. :)

The Turrite Secca valley where the Isola Santa (Holy Island) is situated, a tiny, slate-roofed village on its own lake, once a hideout for mediaeval renegades, now completely abandoned

abuelito
16/08/2007, 19:15
That's it. I don't know Tuscany well - only been there a brief couple of times. This part of it is so different from what most of us think of as Tuscany. I know many people are very inventive with their desktops but I have no talent for that . I like really good photos but they have to easy to look at (ie not distracting) and not be so filled-up that I can't see the icons when I want to have them displayed.

But when you have five users for a machine you have to have everyone's favourite ready to go.

There's only two of us in the family that can class ourselves as advanced PC users. the others, all children, probably quite rightly, just want to get on with whatever they want to do.

I find the Quick Launch invaluable actually. I hate navigating menus, and trying to remember hotkey combos.

Perfect reason , I at the moment use a 15.4 inch laptop and need the start bar to be as small as possible :)

Ah well, with a 17" monitor I can afford to be a bit more generous with the icons!

I can't go to a 19" monitor because it would be too big (just) for my PC cabinet/desk thingy. And with my eyes the existing resolution of 1280 x 1024 is just right on this size monitor.

Kubuntu on the laptop, I usually have it with the 3d window effects as well, but I switched from beryl to compiz using the tuxfamily repos and a recent update broke it (or most likely I broke it).

At least AIGLX and compositing will be supported on the next fglrx drivers (so they say) and I can get rid of the XGL cludge.
