Hi
I'm due to migrate to you later today (20th) Trying to set up email but my login is rejected.
At what stage does my account become active? I thought I'd read on here that the accounts are usable from signing up.

Please ignore, I've sorted it. Works now. User error!!!

No problem

Please makes sure your username is the full e-mail address "you@user.adsl24.co.uk" as just using "user" will log you in but it's not the correct account and the mail won't reach it.

It does not work with full email address as username, but seems to work with "xtremeaction"

Have you actually recieved email through the account though using just the username for login? I've just tried this and as James says, it will login, but it won't download email (becuase there can be multiple email aliases all at yourusername.adls24.co.uk) - but you won't recieve any error messages to indicate this is wrong.

Note though, even if you are using the email address you selected on signup you seem to need to actually set up the email account yourself via the Hosting cPanel as well, it's not done for you, which is why you get 'Login failed ' error.

This does seem a little user unfriendly, it would be better if this was setup automatically

Yes, mail is coming in OK. Have my domain names email addresses redirected to my adsl24 address and all are arriving (as far as I can see)
All I can see on the hosting cPanel is a place to enter my email address for contact, can't see any setup options.
Migration has just happened, and 25% faster download than f2s, well pleased.

Try the full e-mail address as username now - I've found/fixed the issue.

That's exactly how it works, it's created automatically when your account is created :)

In xtremeaction's case it was a password issue on the server.

Thanks James, it works with full address now.
Another question. My wife has an email address with o2. Recieve only.
Her account has always been setup to recive via o2 and send through my f2s mail server.
Can I still do this with you? Don't seem to be able to get it to work at the moment.

Yes. Set the SMTP to mail.username.adsl24.co.uk and turn on SMTP authetication, and in the More settings button enter your ADSL24 username and password.

That is what I'd set up.
Changed her email address to donna at username.adsl24.co.uk and it works.
Reply to is set to her o2 account. Many thanks for the help.
I'm going to enjoy being with adsl24.

Ah, well, it didn't seem to work for me. There were no email accounts listed in cpanel at all. I had to create the account before I could connect email. Worked fine.

Not that it'll get much use though, seeing as we used our own domain names for email.
