It was probably already on to start with if your pings hve not changed when turning it "On". Your router status page should show the status.

Ah. Try this:

1) Visit http://192.168.0.1/setup.cgi?todo=debug (should say "Debug enable")
2) Go to Start > Run and type: telnet 192.168.0.1
3) Type "adsl info" and look for the "Channel/Path" (should say FAST or Interleaved). If "adsl info" doesn't work try "adslctl info"

is that for the gt model because i can't do none of the adsl info part

James

Yes, GT too.

What part do you get up to?

James

So once in Telnet, when you type:

adslctl info

It should say something like:

Channel: FAST/Interleaved

If not, what does it say?

James

Try typing: cat /proc/avalanche/avsar_modem_stats

It worked for my dg834g

yeah that works but i can't really see where it tells me whether interleaving is on or off though

bit cheesed off because for some reason i cannot get my previous sync speed of 7616 pretty much since i had interleaving switched off several months ago i sync around about 6mb now, i've tried different routers different cables and filters and tried the master socket for over a week

James

It could be that the SNR target was increased by BT thus lowering the SYNC rate to improve reliability.

I had a profile of 4000-4500 a few weeks ago and now its 7150.

This is how I fixed it - bought a new router (ST585v6) and wired my phone extension directly into the master socket, removing a splitter.

It's a bit annoying when, after a year of 4Mb, what I thought was fast, I find that I could have had 8Mb if I had just sorted my wiring out.

well i've just ordered a filtered face plate see if that helps will then try a different make router it just seems wierd that it's changed even though i'm using the exact same setup as before
