Have BT actually said why? why they won't sort out my ip profile? is there reason valid?

It's stuck - that's why. And they don't know why. I know of 6 other people who are stuck of 6500 when it should be 7150. It's all to do with the problem they are having with the Interleaving options as when a line changes from Interleaving to FAST mode and the SYNC was 7617 the profile is correct at 6500, but it has not realised the fact when Interleaving is off the SYNC rate is now at 8128, so the profile should rise.

Can they not just reset it so it starts again?

Would this exlpain why I'm stuck on 6500 even though my line is synched at 7904 kbps? Also, even though my router reports the above speed, the ADSL Max Reports show it as being synched at 7392kbps for some reason, any idea why?

Hi FastShow

Your SYNC of 7905 is still in the bracket for a 6500 profile so that is normal. The Max reports show the start of the bracket for the profile you are on. So if you SYNC between 7392 - 7967 you are on 6500.

No, unless there has been a fault they have had to sort in the past. Once somebody unlocks the profile it will be fine, but getting someone at BT who understands that at the moment is like gold dust.

I wish speedtester would just work for me & not say busy all the time & contact your isp if this persists

I wish BT would not say that as there is nothing the ISP can do!
