Acting upon the advice from ADSL24 Team, who are acting in good faith, I ordered the Thomson ST-546v6 4-port v.6.1.

I received router in excellent condition with leads, cd etc. As far as I can gather it is working perfectly.

My problem with company is the fact that emails to them are returned via Daemon undeliverable. When I try to telephone them on their 0870 No. I have to listen to music (yes, I know:() whilst the pennies mount up and their share increases:mad:

The query I have with them is:
Information page shows that the model etc is:
Product Name: SpeedTouch 5x6

Serial Number: CP0551CHEWR

Software Release: 5.4.0.11

Please confirm that this is the model ordered (Thomson ST-546v6 4-port) v.6.1

Perhaps someone who has this router can confirm that I do indeed have model ordered.

Thank you.

Here is a geographical number, courtesy of SAYNOTO0870.com: 01675 466555

My info says ST585, and the label under the router says 585v6.

You have software version 5.4, but I don't know what for.

There has been a longggg thread over on one of the Thinkbroadband forums regarding dsldepot contact email problems, not sure what the reolution was, I didn't read it all which email address where you trying?

As ffox says, use the 01675 number (it's the general number for Net Lnyx, the parent company, but it's fine), i didn't have problem contacting on that.

Re your router, I've been thorugh this myself, I got sent a 546v5 instead of the v6. The v6 clearly says 546v6 , you've got a v5. If you try to apply v6 firmware upgrade they won't apply.

If you want to swop it (there isn't alot of difference) then ring them, they should send you a postage paid special delivery bag to return it.

This happened to me, unfortunetely the replacedment (the correct one) didn't work properly - couldn't access the web GUI, or it would hang if I did. Operator tried to get me to ring Thomson support on a premiumn number, said I didn't want tech support, IMO it was faulty, she started wittering on about 'B' grade stuff etc. at which point I got fed up, pointed out a few salient bits of the sales of goods law and said I wanted a refund. didn't offer a bag at first, but did once i asked for it.

Gave up on them, going to see again if my Netgear DG834 will play ball now with bittorrent.

Hi both,

Thanks for prompt and helpful replies. I contacted the number and spoke to a most helpful lady (in between bouts of Elton, prefer the old days with Vivaldi!).

Upshot is that a return bag is being sent to me. So far so good:)

Thanks confused. Had a look in forum and must presume that my experience probably due to number of complaints posted there.

Has anyone else using this router had similar experience I wonder?
