This is Wireshark an open source network sniffer.
I've been using this when tracing Web Service calls and remote debugging connections recently and it's very useful to say the least. :)

I agree that this is an excellent piece of software - it used to be called Ethereal.

There's another related tool, which does a different job, called "etherape" - it gives you a sort of map of all your connections, coloured to show protocol, and scaled to show transfer rates. Very nice :),
This is sweet software. Intresting to see that one one line it shows my Linksys router sending a packet of data to find out who has my IP address but my router is badged Cisco instead :P. Its a shame the Linksys brand is being droped but it will be so much nicer having a Cisco in the house instead :p
