Hi, been pointed towards adsl24 as my current ISP has just started bandwidth throttling to the point that my connection is now totally useless.

Firstly, as far as I can tell, ADSL24 don't shape/throttle traffic in anyway, correct?

Secondly, my current connection is only 2mb as I've not upgraded to a MAX package on my current ISP, can I still migrate over to you and then get upgraded onto a MAX line once i'm with ADSL24? (I'm not too sure how it works, just that I think MAX is LLU isn't it? as far as I can tell, I'm not on that) Could I migrate directly from my non-MAX product straight over to your MAX packages or would it be easier/cheaper for me to upgrade with my current ISP and then migrate?

Finally, I have a Netgear DG824 router, is that compatible with MAX speeds/connection?

Apologies if this makes no sense, lol, just tell me and I'll try to explain again :)

Thanks

There's no port blocking/shaping, but...there is a form of load balancing performed during off-peak, 22.0-08.00 weekdays & 22.00 Friday-08.00 Monday.
Yes, you can come straight across to a MAX product, no need to change before or after - MAX is not LLU.
Your router will work OK.

Just a guess but you wouldnt happen to be with AOL, would you? I've been with them for five-years but since the Carphone Warehouse took over I am being throttled every evening between 6pm and 11pm. My contract ends in March and then I'm off to look for another ISP! This one sounds good which is why I'm noseying around in their forum :D :D :D

Freedom2Surf - they've recently put in such rediculous throttles/management that I may as well use dialup
