View Full Version : Hi Everyone
Just thought I'd say Hi to everyone, now I've manged to pry my MAC code out of Plusnet.
Will sign up tomorrow - I'm looking forward to joining an ISP that provides a usable connection and proper customer service.

A BIG Welcome Paul
You'll be OK here ;)
A big welcome from me, too, PaulB.
Ircsum.
Yes a warm welcome Paul, look forward to a chat tomorrow.
Regards,
Welcome to ADSL24 PaulB,
yorkie.
Thanks everyone for the friendly welcome.
I look forward to having once more some a sensible connection speed after the wonders of Plusnet Traffic Shaping.
1564 Kb/s downstream, and 251 kb/s upstream tonight with the following line stats
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8096 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 17.0 db 8.0 db
Noise Margin 11.0 db 24.0 db
Or perhaps I'm being unfair to Plusnet
I suspect improving on this performance may not tax ADSL24 too much.
Brian - Quick question where have you hidden the online migration order page?

Hi Paul, welcome to Adsl24. The online migration order page is not working at the moment, so you will need to do it over the phone.
I wish I had the knowledge to sort the migration script out myself, but not being a brain child in php, curl and xml thats me out.
It will be sorted over time.
Brian,
That means nothing to me, I'll give you a call in the morning with the MAC code.
Paul
Great, if we are busy, leave a message I'll call you back ASAP.

Hi and welcome to ADSL24 Paul :)
I spoke to Brian earlier and have set the wheels in motion - just got to wait for the 23rd now.
Could someone confirm if the training process will kick-in as I would prefer to retain my current BT IP Profile of 7000 Kbps.
It's the insane variations of Plusnet's traffic shaping amongst other things that has driven me to change. Although tonight we're doing well with an IP throughput of 6202 Kbps compared to last night's 1647 Kbps.
Once again, thanks to everyone who's said hello.
Paul
Thats up to BT, sometimes they do retrain and sometimes not because your profile is already set.
