Hi,

It seems that i am having a few problems with my connection to the internet. Whenever i load up a browser and go to a website i seem to get server time out issues, this happens even on the adsl24 forums. i get good ping and tracert results (27 avg ping to www.bbc.co.uk) but if i try to surf i get no pages loaded. Occasionally they will loadwith repeated refreshes.

I have run the BT speedtest and it seems that the results are a little confusing. The result are as follows:

Results Image not loaded

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 3000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 4192 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2783 kbps

It seems that my actual bandwidth is far less than the router is currently connected at plus the profile i have does not seem to cover the connection speed my router is reporting.

All of these issues began on friday at around 11:30pm, and have continued all weekend and are still evident at the time of writing this.

Can you please offer me some advice as to how i can continue normal internet service?

PS i loaded up EntaTool and it states that i am connected to "Nutmeg C5" which has a red icon (meaning almost full) it also states that expected performance is 6.2MB/ps which i am not getting, in fact its just less than half of that.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Disconnect and reconnect to another central, central 5 has certain peculiarities like you describe with some users, you may be one of them.

Replied to your ticket, but jsut to confirm, change your router MTU to 1400 and all should be well, even on C5.
