I'm leaving on Monday

Hi guys,

I suppose the time has come to jump out of the closet LOL I've already spoken with James about this well in advance, which I wanted to do before I started shouting on public forums about it.

As of Monday, 1st October, I'll no longer be an ADSL24 customer :eek::( Nothing (and I stress, absolutely nothing) to do with James, or the service at all! My exchange is LLU enabled and having heard great things about UK Online I couldn't resist 22 megs with no shaping, and a FUP in the 100s of gigs any longer :o

So, there ye have it. Scared and excited all at the same time lol Must admit though (and I never thought I'd say this about an ISP!), I'm gonna miss being on ADSL24. It's been faultless throughout, ignoring the odd slow spell. So thank you James et al. for all you've done, I'm leaving a happy chappy and I still recommend you far and wide :D

As I said in my PM, if UK Online come back to bite me in the bum, expect me back here with cloth cap in hand hehehe Hopefully I'll still be allowed to hang around the forum (though James was strangely silent on that point in his replies lol :p) so it's cya later, rather than goodbye :D

S'ok mate, I've spotted a "normal" ISP who offers one month contracts with NO migration fee from LLU... I'll use them as a free stepping stone back to ADSL24 if needs arise ;) :D

So, here it is. My last few hours on ADSL24 :( When I wake up in the morning, I'll be on LLU. I've got butterflies lol Still, when I'm hitting nearly 20 megs downstream I'm sure I'll cheer up a bit :D I'll be back in the morning to bug you all with a speed test :p

It started at just over 20000k down with an SNR of just over 6. A bit of tweaking in the UberGT firmware's SNR module later and voila - an extra meg of SYNC and no stability loss. Awesome :D
