Hi all,

My first post and Im moaning already!

I have loyally been with Demon since they started in a basement in Southend on Sea and stuck with them through the years. I have a family now and have been hammered with their Fair Usage Policy as they say my account used too much bandwidth and am stuck with a near un-useable connection between 9am and 10pm.

I contacted them and explained that with the other users in my household going over their 60Gb per 30 day limit may be unavoidable and asked if there was another package I could switch to but got very little joy.

I have seen some good reviews about ADSL24 and thought I would take a look.

I will have my connection going through a wired modem router to 3 machines which are used for gaming, web-browsing, e-mail music and usenet (no peer to peer stuff).

The majority of use is in the evenings and of course at weekends and I was considering the OfficeMax 45 option.

So to my questions: -

1/ Half Life 2 online, Battlefield 2010 and Counterstrike. Will we be ok?

2/ How do I check that I do not exceed bandwidth limits and if I cannot check them what happens if I do exceed them?

Any information would be appreciated.

Simon

Hi Simon, welcome to the Adsl24 forums. You can check how much of your monthly allowance you've used through the Control Panel. I'm not into gaming myself, but I can't see why you'd have any issues if you migrated here.

Hi sniper1312
Welcome to ADSL24:D
I have a similar setup...My lads constantly game and pings can be 15/30, depends on your line quality and equipment. They seem happy since moving from Nildram.
I have the Max home 30...p2p is done through the night to make use of the off peak 300gig allowance.(we average 45gig total).

regards
Cliff:)

Hi sniper,

This place is full of ppl who have migrated from once-good ISPs. You'll find that Adsl24 will meet all your needs.

Hi Sniper,

I am also very disappointed with Demon, been with them for years but now find there service and technical support appalling. I've just asked for my MAC and am looking for an ISP that will provide reliable service for Xbox Live gaming and the usual interwebbing.
