View Full Version : Stange speeds
I am having a very stange speed problem if i leave my router connected all night until 5pm the next day(home from work) when i check my download speed its at 1500kbps but if i then disconnect and reconnect straight away it goes back to my normal 3500kbps. This happens the same each day but the pipes are on green and say 7.2mb. So is it a Bug of some sort with Entanet network. Is anybody else have the same problem:confused:

I don't think it's a bug as such, but I have also noticed that my line doesn't always automatically go back up a gear once peak time kicks in again the next day and I'm often left at just under 2Mb unless I reconnect.
The reason for the drop in speed during off-peak periods is due to the anti-packet-loss restrictions that come into play so we can maintain a stable connect throughout :)
Hmmm, never had that problem Paul
I leave my router on 24/7, only re-booting when I have to, to change a setting for example. What happens if you leave the router on for a couple of days? does the speed pick up or stay low ?
What router do you use? and what speedtest do you use?
ps. just done a test on mine, ......I think it was a fluke :D

Yes, I have exactly the same problem, and so do others on the thinkbroadband.com forum. I've raised a support ticket with Adsl24 about it, so it would be good if you could do likewise.
