For the past 2 days, I have had no internet. My routers (Speedtouch 585v6) 'DSL' light has been flashing constantly. For a while I have been talking to James on the ticket system, and my connection seemed to sort itself out. I was getting at best a 1Mb connection, but my profile was constantly synching higher and lower.

Now, having an internet connction is better than no connection at all. Me thinking my router had died internally or some other component was broken, I think it may have been Entanet. They emailed me this morning saying they were to block my connection if I do not setup up another payment method. But, I had printed off a Direct Debit form over a week ago and my mum had filled that out and posted it to them, and they have even accepted it and taken a payment.

Currently my mum is at work and will probably want to talk to them, but what should I do in the meantime? Its all well and good Entanet contacting me, but what if my connection was still acting up and hadn't been able to check today?

Update:

Cant get through to Entanet, as their closed on weekends. Does this mean if I email them it wont get answered till monday, which according to this I wont have internet.

A payment was taken out on 22nd October, and again in November. We were emailed saying the card being used would expire at the end of November, so on 22nd November, a Direct Debit was setup. This was accepted, and an invoice from Entanet shows the month of internet usage covered until the 22nd December.

Is it possible that they can be contacted before the 48 hours is up and told what the situation is, or will I have to wait for monday afternoon to arrive to then phone them...

OUCH.

Your speedtest isnt showing the best connection either. What connection are you on? the 2mbps or can your line only cope with 1mbps.

Anyway.
I havent had this problem we had a problem at first my dad has a card which does Direct Debits but dosent work online for some really random reason but if you phone they do it manually it works.

But they will probbobly do it on Monday.

I dont 'mind' being without an internet connection for monday, just I dont want this to last to last a few days.

And about that connection, my line was estimated to get 3.5Mb, and i got 3 during the training period. Then due to random disconnections, the phone ringing which knocks of the internet, its just gone right down, and hasnt synched any higher than 1700 in a while.

For instance, since thursday I have had no internet, with my router just returning the same message "Your DSL line is not synchronized. Check if your phone line is correctly connected to your SpeedTouch."

Looking at your account it still shows you setup as - Payment Method: Continuous Card Authority

Log in to your billing site, and change it to the direct debit that shows - then click update, and all is well. If no DD showing, just add the account details.

Awesome! Would have replied sooner, but my router decided to disconnect again and then not synchronise the line =/.

Could this be a router fault?, as I have noticed it reporting in the logs 'Kernal Cold Restart', and I'm sure theres a topic that means its a router fault...

it looks to me like a broken filter.... if your internet drops when the phone rings....

Kernel restart means the router has rebooted (not just lost DSL sync). Sounds odd. It could well be the router. Only way to find out is to test another :)
