Ok, I am connected to adsl24 server through my router.
Router info: IP address: 87.127.97.214
Primary DNS : 195.74.113.58
Secondary DNS: 195.74.113.62

I can connect to ADSL24 site, but now can't get the cPanel page up!
Also I can't connect to a few other sites, like google, Pipex and adslguide.co.uk

Help please

Did you input those DNS details manually or is the router pulling these details automatically?

I inputted them myself, but without them or if the router grabbed them automatically I still can't connect to the said sites.

Thanks

I don't believe it now!
I changed my setting back to my old ISP so that I could get to the cPanel etc etc., then changed back to adsl24 settings. I can now get to cPanel, but can't get to the websites I could before!!! All I get is Problem loading page, Firefox can't find the server at www.google.com etc

It sounds like it could be a DNS issue ... I had terrible problems with this a few weeks ago (before I came to ADSL24) and I'm now using these DNS settings ...

208.67.220.220
208.67.222.222

Touch wood, I've not had any recurrent problems :)

Like surfer_chick, I prefer to use OpenDNS's DNS servers - have a read about them at http://www.opendns.com/.

Another opendns fan here. Enta DNS servers have given problems occasionally, so no harm to have something up your sleeve.

Yes indeed and this is a handy tip to all new customers.

Make sure you dont have old settings in your TCP/IP properties.

Primary DNS : 195.74.113.58
Secondary DNS: 195.74.113.62
These from enternet control panel. ? which do you recommend Brian?
do you think these ones are ok, I set this in my router, and my windows tcp/ip is set to get them automatically, so i presume it will get them from my router, or is it best to manualy set these as well. I know about the open ones, but for the time being while I am waiting for my 10 day training period to hopefully sort out my 2meg and ramp me up to 8 meg, I thought best sit tight?

cheers for any tips :-)

I am getting nice smooth connection, "superior to Tiscali" "even if it is 1.8 meg. Just hope bt will uncap my line soon up to 8 meg, I have good line and only 542 meters from exchange, so they have no reason to leave me here ... We shall see......

The DNS servers you use will not make any difference to the outcome of the 10 day training period.
