View Full Version : Entanet core speeds suffering
I have been on ADSL24 for about 2 weeks now and im very impressed, however even in the night times (off peak) the speeds i get are real slow currently whereas when its not congested i get 710kb a sec. I contacted entanet directly and they said they expect to install a new central soon to help resolve the problem. I hope they mean the one thats due to go live on the 7th March as looking currently at the NOC, its 2:13 AM and all the switches on the NOC page are black and packet loss expected which isnt good. I download off peak to try and conserve my peak time usage but i seem to get better speeds at peak times. Maybe entanet didnt anticipate as many customers coming over but i really hope the new central will push up the bandwidth pipes :( as its great when not congested and the pipes are on green status

I agree that the new central can't come soon enough. The problem is the lead time on a new central is so long, it does not allow Entanet to react quickly to a sudden influx of customers.

The Entanet NOC (Network Operations Centre) is http://noc.enta.net/.
Have a read of http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/equip.htm about how ADSL works.
