Looking at the line reports it looks like there is some noise on the line. Have you tried plugging the router into the BT test socket? If you can do this then repost your router line stats we can take a look.

these are the router line stats of the BT test socket.

You mean the above stats from the first post? If so, then if have tried a new filter, then no, there is nothing else you can do to improve it.

the filter is new, how have i dropped speed so much when i was getting decent speeds a couple of weekes ago?.

Its probably because you have ADSL max on a medium length line, you get what you get =/

The downstream SNR margin is a bit low at 3dB, anything below 6dB can cause a lot of disconnections .. and affect the line profile.

Not sure what can be done about that.

What router are you using? some are better at hanging on to connections than others.

i am using a netgear dg834g router.

So, if you are in the test socket, with a new filter, then that is all your line is giving you. Line conditions can change, equipment can vary, but BT are not interested in your SYNC speed as long as the connection is stable.

i have changed my new filter that came with the router, for my old one and these are the stats
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3104 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 49 db 15.5 db
Noise Margin 7 db 20 db

will i now see better results.

Well those stats are just similar to the ones in your first ones.

This means your profile will be 2500 giving you speeds up to 2500.
