Hi,
I keep getting really slow speeds, often at the start of every month (~3rd of every month). They are slower than 56k days... Yet nothing changes with my hardware/settings etc, i have no skybox, nothing that auto updates via phone line every month etc. And now it is happening tonight. It normally sorts its self out after a couple of days though.
Any idea what it is? I haven't tried that test socket or anything, mainly as it seems (apart from today...) to be every month. the other ~27 days of the month its fine. It has taken forever to upload these (!) but here are some screenshots of various things that may help...

It makes using the web pretty much impossible. Whats a bit strange though is that it will often half load a page, and even refreshing a few times it will often stop loading anything past the same point (ie... loads the same amount).

Ping times are also quite normal still (i *think*... numbers seem normal anyway). ping of adsl24.co.uk has an average response of 58ms (with > 1000 tries), and google.co.uk had a similar (slightly higher, i think (70-80ms)) time.

thanks

I actually experienced what you described, early last night. Pages loaded half way and refreshing the browser just did nothing, the pages were stuck.

I quickly disconnected, and reconnected and BANG full speed again. That was on central 1, cured when I popped onto a different central.

Ah the joys of the Internet. :D

Line stats at present look OK but something is simply causing noise on the line at certain times making it lose connection and reconnect a lot lower. This is what causes the spikes to your Max reports.

Have you tried leaving the router in the test socket for a good week to see what it stabilises at.
