Hi all,

Anyone know why i couldnt connect to the internet last night?
I tried around 5pm and my homepage didnt load.
Checked my router and it said disconnected.
Rebooted 2-3 times but it wouldnt connect.
Seemed to be down for at least 2 hours.
Havn't had chance to check today as i'm at work.
We had gale force winds last night but the phones were working.
If it wasn't an ADSL24 problem is there any other way to check what was causing it. I am on the BREADSALL exchange.

Thanks.

I've experienced something recently...in the event of a power outage, for example, or something that causes the router to 'glitch' unexpectedly, rebooting the router (Netgear) doesn't always sort it. I've had to power off, leave 5 / 10 mins and power on again to reconnect...

Had to do this yesterday and this morning, and we had bad storms here...

May I suggest you raise a ticket with Adsl24, if you haven't done so already? You could also raise the issue directly with a ticket to Enta.

There's always the "stick an unbent paper-clip in the back of the router to force a factory re-set" 'fix'.

nowt wrong with my router, i aint doing a factory reset when its adsl24 (or entanet) at fault!?!

i've raised a ticket but i'm not happy.

if you cant connect to the internet and the support phone numbers dont work after 5pm wtf are you supposed to do!!!!!!?

How long have you been an adsl 24 member?

My internet went down after the initial 8 day (i think it was 8 days) because entanet believed i had not set up a payment method like it says in the email you get when you first join.

I rang them up (entanet) and explained the situation and they said it was their fault and something wrong with their system and they shouldnt of disconnected me because i had setup a payment option.

So they reconnected me and it took about 30mins.

This might not be your problem at all but its worth giving them a ring to find out why u have been disconnected.

Thanks Alex you were bang on the money!

Brian James had taken my payment details when i migrated to ADSL24 but for some reason hadn't passed the details onto ENTANET so I was disconnected on Monday!!!

Thanks to James and ENTANET I am back online!

Ummm I dont pass on any details to Entanet, its all automated so if Entanets systems didn't pick up the fact that you have setup a direct debit or future card payment then its not my fault but Entanets.

All data is inputed into Entanets pages, send and received, you migrate and then its up to the customer to setup future payment methods.

If Entenet do not receive such a payment around 8 days after activation then they block the account.

Well, that's a new one to add to the fault finding list, "Have you paid your bill sir?" :D

Ok so i've just checked my mail and seen this...

*Failure to return the attached direct debit or setup a future payment method within 8 days of activation will result in Entanet blocking your connection, this we do not want to happen so please complete fully and return ASAP and send to the address on the debit or access the billing page and do this online ASAP.

Also note: Your first payment via card we took over the phone is solely for your first advanced monthly payment and not for any future monthly payments. If you wish to use your card for future payments, you can call Entanet direct or use the customer control panel link on our website (details below) and authorize Entanet to set this up, we Adsl24 Ltd cannot do this

I'll get my coat! :-P

I no longer have anything to do with Adsl24 but Adsl24 do not handle billing etc and customers must setup a direct debit etc asap.

Its Entanet that handles all accounts and blocked ypur connection not Adsl24.

Yes its me M8 :) still alive and kicking, well just about.

I cannot remember if it was me or James that sent you your registration details, but I would of sent them via email and all the DD details would of been in red or via a attached PDF file.

But glad your back online and I hope James and Paul are looking after everyone.

Regards.
