Ridicolously Slow Speeds - IP Profile 135 kbps

Hi,

About two days ago my internet suddenly became painfully slow. I usually connect around 4 - 5 mbps, but my router (DG834PN) was showing i was connecting at 1-2 mbps.

I tried various things to get the speed back... but then the internet goes all together and i was unable to connect at all. I was getting error messages from ipconfig, and loosing the ability to be able to log into my router, Enta support and I decided it was the router's fault.

So, today my new router (DG834N) comes and i install it. It works, in that i can connect to the internet... but im getting horrible speeds.

Im about to phone support again, but any ideas?

Its like being back on dialup when im paying for 8mbps.

It's basically a line issue. The line dropped out to 160 kbps hence why your profile is at 135k. If your router is back up to the normal speed then you just need to wait for your profile to rise. This is usually within 24hrs. This is entirely a BT issue/system and nothing support can do. You should ensure that all your sockets are wired correctly and that you are using new filters for a while to find the cause of the bad dropout, which is most likely an internal issue :)
