But before I do I need some advice!

I've been with UKFSN for quite a short time, but have had problems with setting up additional email accounts, and found the lack of support frustrating.

So have decided I'd like to move where it seems there is help for when things go wrong! I have recently registered a domain name and my girlfriend and I would like to use it for our email, that is all, nothing else. Is that something you can handle? And what do I need to do for it to work?

Thanks ever so much.

Wilbur

Yeah it won't be a problem, ADSL24 can host your domain and you can set up unlimited e-mail accounts on it! so it would be wilbur@yourdomain.co.uk or whatever.. Hope this helps, you will need to log a support call for it to be done, all i think you need is to specify your domain name and you should get a response with your nameservers in, you change this with the guys you got your domain name off, e.g. 1and1 or 123reg.

Yes we can do that for you. It would require you telling your current registrar to change the NS records for the domain you've registered or alternatively just to change the MX records.

Hope this helps

Excellent.

So what would I need to change the NS records to (what are NS records by the way?), or the MX records (what are they too?)

Is there an additional cost for this with you guys or is it the same amount?

Thanks for the quick response (very reassuring)

Either
ns1.r5x.com ns2.r5x.com
Or
dns1.adsl24.co.uk dns2.adsl24.co.uk

As far as i am aware it's all part of the service and is included.. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Without going into any kind of detail:-

NS records are pointers to the server that has the information for your domain.
MX records tell mail servers who to contact when trying to deliver mail.

The rest is as per Lancia's reply.
