average download speeds

hi, i am considering migrating to adsl24 and wonder if you can tell me what average download speeds most people are getting, i am interested in speeds for both peak and off-peak times, also detailing your max line speed too would be very helpful.

How can we tell your download speed without any information from yourself, as the great ones say;)

The maximum speed depends on various factors such as the length and conditions of your line from the exchange, your internal wiring, quality of filters used.

Generally speaking, the longer your line, the greater the attenuation.

Signal to Noise Ratio plays a very important part in the maximum speed at which you can connect to the exchange.
With ADSL your router will sync at the best speed it can allow a "safe" margin of SNR.

Therefore the better your SNR Margin the better your chance of getting the higher speeds.
