Can't connect to the mail server [Archive]

For some unknown reason I cannot connect to the adsl24 mail server. I get a message telling me the connection was refused!
This has only started tonight, and haven't had any problems before. Nothing has changed at my end

Any ideas chaps or chapess's?

I don't mean logging in, I mean my email program can't connect, or more so I use Mailwasher and that tells me the connection is refused.

I wonder if something is conflicting with Mailwasher (sorry not used that in several years so can't remember the settings) but as far as I know the ADSL24 mail server has built in spam protection itself.

Have you tried logging directly into Webmail ... Horde or Squirrelmail ... to double check?

I had the same issue yesterday morning.Tried it later and all working again.

The issue first thing yesterday morning was due to a DNS problem, but that was resolved by mid-morning.

Got it sorted now. My firewall decided to block Mailwasher!!
