Hi, im currently browsing your price range and pondering to myself is it worth upgrading in the evolution thats happening to broadband at the moment.

currently on Tesco 512kbps broadband and want to get a faster connection as i have more than 1 computer connected at home.

i do alot of gaming everyday "nerdy", download music. i also use P2P (bitlord) to download my game updates which are often released quite often (world of warcraft, Dark age of camelot) i also like to watch clips on youtube so im a bit of a variety user.

im thinking of the 30/300 19.99 package to switch to but am not sure, as if i have a better connection my download rate may go up.

do you think this is a suitable connection for my needs?

p.s - i can probably leave my game updates overnight (over12pm)

It’s a one month rolling contract so what have you got to lose.
Don’t play online games but many do on the entanet platform and report very
Good latency

The system Entanet employ always allow everyone a fair crack at the whip gamers and downloader’s.

trying to keep everybody happy can be difficult, on balance enta appear to be doing a good job at the mo...

Hi Sam
I can only echo what Mirage has written. There is no traffic-shaping or port-blocking with Enta. The pipes can slow down a bit during off-peak times, but personally, I've never had a problem with this.
You should see a vast speed improvement over 512 kbps

ps. BTW Welcome to the forums ;)

Hi sam

I have moved over just recently and these guys are all so helpfull and the idea of having a bigger d/load at night is great.

I play Battlefield 2 and when i am not having issue,s with my line training period it is good my ping has dropped by at least 10 clicks.

Hope that helps your decision and as mirage said if you don't like it after a month then leave. That was a big thing for me but everyone so helpful i think i will be staying for a bit;)

Hi Sam151
The package you quoted is more than adequate for your needs. you will find the latency will be low on WOW (about 60)....also you will achieve pings below 30 (depends on line and equipment).
I have two PC's running WOW simultaneously with no problems.:D

Cliff:)
P.s...any questions regarding WOW...you will have to ask my 11 year old(level 64 character, the elder son has a few above 60).

Thanks for the info, by the way i have a 70 mage and a few other 60's ^^, so im 100% my next provider will be adsl24 as you seem to offer one of the best services i hear, i also want to know what speeds i can get down my line.

by the way on the subject of broadband while im here i want to ask about LLU, can LLU be activated on any broadband enabled line or do i need to do some tests.

well all i have to do now is wait for Tesco to send me my MAC code, sigh, i will send them a letter so i cannot be ignored and get it recorded delivery, if they dont act i will send them a warning as the process goes.

thanks for the info.

Not sure exactly where you're coming from with the LLU query but......LLU means an ISP has its own kit in the exchange and takes over the running of a line from the exchange to the home (Local Loop Unbundling). There are advantages to this and also disadvantages - the main disadvantage being you need to pay an activation fee to get back to a BT IPstream product. No tests are required as long as the line is capable of receiving broadband.

LLU will only be found in larger exchanges where the number of lines makes it financially viable for the provider to install his kit.

As a current gamer, in a UK server on multiplayer games i can get between 25-30ms pings and will be better when the new pipes come online on 21st March so it is definately a great choice for a gaming ISP as if theres anything worse is a company doing traffic shaping and Entanet dont. Its the best i have seen yet as no matter what, you pay for a good and reliable service. Whereas other ISPs do rubbish usage caps and traffic management

I'm gaming also, and since moving on the 28th Feb, best thing I've ever done I also on the 30/300 no problems here.

I am a gamer as well. Since i moved here from tis%$$%$,
sry but they were so unhelpfull and useless, i have not once regretted the move
i am still in the 10 day max training period but still seem to get 7meg speed dureing the day :) and the pings are good.
got a few disconnections tonight but within a minute or two on the forums found out what the problem was and what was happening.
Sorry to go on but compared to my last ISP its GREAT :).
