Just search the forums, there are a few threads detailing what peeps use and/or recommend, includng one big one from around August last year.

I (and lots of others) will highly reccomend the Speedtouch 585v6 which can be had for £19.99 from dsldepot.co.uk (refurbished) - I am currently using a modified BT 2700HGV which is fairly good for long lines.

you cant go too far wrong with a netgear DG834G, exelent at hanging on to sync on long lines....

My vote goes to the Netgear DG834G v3.

I'm 1.25 miles from a rural exchange, old overhead cables, with a line attenuation of 33db. This router gives me a full sync speed of 8128/448, and has held it steady for over three months. :D

Belkin or Netgear, both are very user friendly.

Will you be using wireless? probably best to get one of the new 802.11n routers if thats the case :)

i have a wireless AP so wireless is not really needed but suppose it would free up 1 plug

I'll second the recommendation for the SpeedTouch 585v6.

Will the Netgear DG834GT hold on to a line just as well as plain G?

Xabi..not dead sure about this one, but I think I remember reading somewhere once that the G holds better than other netgear models.
