Hi,

I've just migrated to ADSL24 literally a few minutes ago. I was wondering how long until i can see my IP profile on the adsl24 my account page.

I seem to only be getting about 2mb at the moment, which im not too bothered about because its early days.

Router stats, incase anyone is interested.

Downstream Upstream
Data rate (Kbps) 8128 448
Noise margin (dB) 14.2 24.0
Output power (dBm) 19.8 12.1
Attenuation (dB) 21.0 11.0

Alsothe BT install page still says its not completed...how long does this take to update? :)

Thanks

James

Could well be a stuck profile. The IP profile on the My account page would only usually show if your IP profile changes, e.g. drops from the normal 7150 for your line. What does the BT speedtest show? It can take at least 72hrs on some migrations for the profile to get back to normal.

Thanks James.

I've just tried the BT Speedtest and is says

I left my router off last night in an attempt to get it back up to speed...didnt work though .

However, the BT speedtest did work this morning.

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1870 kbps

So I am stuck on 2mb.

Now just leave everything connected for 24hrs. Then, if still on 2Mb on Monday, reboot just once on Monday morning and again on Tuesday morning. That should result in the profile moving up. It can take 5 days :(.

My profile has just moved up from 3.5Mb to 4.0 following my router holding a 4710kbps sync for the last 72hrs (was at 4420kbps before that).

yeah thanks. I'll give that a go.
Although my rotuer is sync'd at 8128 all day long :)

From what i've read it only happens to the 'good quality' lines, which is a shame lol

Yeah, that's right. If your router is able to sync at the full 8Mb, the BT systems do seem to struggle with the initial profile setting. If you're still at 2Mb on Monday/Tuesday then just call ASLD24 and they can get BTw to re-set things, which should shift the profile.

In the early days of MAX there was a strongly held theory that if you deliberately scuppered your line quality by connecting the router without a filter, it would cause the sync to plummet, which the BT systems would see and react to (lowering your profile). Then, once you put everything back together properly again your sync returns to normal and the IP Profile would follow. The danger is you're stuck with a very low profile for a day or maybe more. It could also mess up your registered fault threshold.

If the IP profile does not rise after 3 days just drop in a ticket :)
