Hi all,

Just thought that I would tell everyone about a site that gives away different free software each day. I will explain more after a little message.

" The site is no way associated with ADSL24 in anyway, shape or form and as such ADSL cannot be held responsible for any of the software downloaded" (hope that suffices James;))

The site is called Giveawayoftheday (http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/)

What I like about the site is that it is totally Free of Spyware and other nasties. Just click on the download page and this will explain how people can download the software and run it.

I have used several of the programmes that have been offered at this site and still use two of them. Basically how the site works:-

The main things are that you have to download the software within a 24hr period and actually install it as well, so cannot do this outside this time limit. There is no support offered.
For alot of the programmes offered you will get the main person of the site do a thorough review of it and tells you how it is.(no punches pulled) There is also a healthy feedback page (scroll down) by people who download and use said programmes.

Some of the software given free by the companies are not the newest version but just because there is a new version it does not always mean it is better. There are all kinds of programmes but like the rider I gave above all I will say is have a good read of the site first and the comments supplied, follow the guidelines on how to install and use.

Just hope some of the programmes are of some use for some people here - there is a very good one today called Data Recovery Wizard which I am about to have a play with !!

Remember these programmes are FREE to use commercially available programmes, I have no affinity to the site and if you search I am sure you can find similar programmes around the net free. (I have many in bookmarks) The reason I use this site is because all the software supplied is Free of any Spyware or other nasties and easy to follow. Alot of what is offered is of no use to me but there have been some excellent programmes offered and worth a look at least.

Cheers for now

its not a bad service....

i have seen a few over the years that offer similar promotions. They are very similar to the "free full versions" you get on cover disks with mags.... usually the old version to premote the new version....

my fav piece of software I got this was was infini D (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infini-D)... easy to use rendering software.... very handy for small projects. a lot simpler and cheerper than 3ds max or maya... i still use it now and again....

Hi all

Just thought I would mention this one in case you are in need of Anti-Malware.
(**Before installing have a read on the net about ASquared**)

Just to let you know that "a-squared Anti-Malware 3.5" (Full version is available for free from this site). I have run the free version of this for quite awhile now and there have been some false positives in the past but I do like this programme as one of the layers of security I have.

Have a read of the comments - 84% positive ratings so far. As usual with this site you have to download and install before the end of the offer. The difference with this one is that you get a Full 12 month licence and Technical Support according to the site. (which is different to what usually happens)

How to install
Installation

Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and install the software.
Create a new user account at the setup wizard as requested an log in
with the emailed password. Click the "Convert coupon code" link at the bottom
of the following licenses screen and enter the code

vor-gob-gev-862

Follow the wizard instructions to the end. The software is now installed and protecting your PC.

You have to install it before the Giveaway offer for the software is over.

BetterJPEG is a JPEG photo editor specifically designed to avoid recompression loss when editing photos. BetterJPEG takes advantage of the fact that JPEG images consist of a number of small independent blocks and does not recompress blocks that don’t have to be changed, retaining original quality and sampling settings.

Better Jpeg is a very small download (800kb), If you do not have any photo editing software then worth having a look at. Obviously will not be as good as more expensive bloated programmes. It does look easy to use but one thing I have found is that you will have to create your own 'Desktop Shortcut'

I am using XP2 and works OK - small memory footprint.

Just remember to 'Activate First' before installing.

All the best - Rhyn

Just to let you all know that a good programme is on the 'Giveaway of the Day' site.

"Giveaway of the Day - Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum" So far it has a massive thumbs up, the only thing - it CANNOT convert files.

It is worth keeping an eye on the site for other software, oh and this version today is the current version but again - have to install on the day of the Giveaway and there is No Support but saying this I have never needed support for the software I have downloaded.

Cheers for now
