Hi

I set up a new email address in cpanel which is werevilla@justincoldicott.adsl.co.uk .

I cant seem to configure it to work with outlook express i can receive emails but can not seem to send them

i get this error message

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'n'. Subject '', Account: 'mail.justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk', Server: 'mail.justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 5.5.4 <n>... Domain name required for sender address n', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

on the servers tab i have set the following

Incoming mail pop3 mail.justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk

outgoing mail SMTP mail.justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk

Account Name werevilla+justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk

then password for login

Then i have ticked my server requires authentication

Then on s outgoing server settings i have tried manually entering werevilla+justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk and password and also ticking the option to use same details as incoming

I have used the set up details that are given in configure outlook express in c panel so i assume they are correct

Here are the manual configuration settings I got from the c panel

lManual Settings
Mail Server Username: werevilla+justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk
Incoming Mail Server: mail.justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk (server requires authentication)
Supported Incoming Mail Protocols: POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS)
Supported Outgoing Mail Protocols: SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS)

I have just rein.lled using all the same details it sent two test e mails to my aol accounts thought i had cracked it then i got an error sending a third mail. It seems i can send a couple of emils at atime then 3rd fails

Its done it again sent a couple of emails then tried again and got the error so it seems i can send a couple of emails then it fails with the folowing message------ The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk', Server: 'mail.justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Any help appreciated as this really starting to annoy me

Thanks Justin

The clue in the error message you got is:

The sender's e-mail address was 'n'.

It looks like you haven't entered your ADSL24 email address in the field for the sender's email address.

Ive done that now but now getting Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'n'. Subject '', Account: 'mail', Server: 'mail.justincoldicott.adsl24.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 5.5.4 <n>... Domain name required for sender address n', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Ive set up my parents email adds for talk talk through outlook express in about 5 minutes eiether im missing something or it's just not working its really boring me now.

I will say that for AOL at least they had email that work's

I hate IE7 as a browser and outlook express is just rubbish

Take a look at http://www.pat100.entadsl.com/OEsetup.doc for how to set up OE for your ADSL24 email account.

That sounds like for whatever reason you have not put your correct e-mail address in the e-mail field of the ADSL24 mail account properties.

Surely it must be correct other wise i would not be able to send any i think it is when i try to fire 4 or 5 emails of in a row it loses connection to the server.

If i leave it a couple of minutes it seems to send them again ,and also the one's that it could not send in the first attempt which have moved to the outbox:confused:

James i did send an email to the support address with screen shots of my configuration just to check if you could see if i have got anything wrong

Thanks

Justin

You could always try using Thunderbird instead of OE!

I spoke to soon both Incredimail and Thunderbird both could not connect to server again last night.

I sent 3 emails then had could not connect to mail server.

Then gave it a couple of minutes and the emails that were not sent that were sat in my outbox were sent.

It may improve when my connection is provided by ADSL24

Will increaseing server timeouts in the advanced section of properties in OE improve this perhaps.

Thanks

It's got to be worth giving this a go.

Have you set the sender's email address in Webmail to your email address?

PineappleJack

I go into Webmail to Horde and go to new message and send the email. It arrives at my Yahoo mail,I send a reply and then there is a mail in my Yahoo inbox that says Mailer daemon Yahoo com

84.234.17.142 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550-"The recipient cannot be verified. Please check
all recipients of this
550 message to verify they are valid."
Giving up on 84.234.17.142.

So I'm not sure what to do.

Have you entered your ADSL24 email address in "Your From: address" in Horde? This can be found in Options, Mail, Personal Information.

James

Yep sounds like that the problem - had this a few times. also, try it from Squirrelmail and then reply from Yahoo etc.

What happens when you send a new e-mail from your yahoo account to your adsl24 one?

PineappleJack

I went into options, mail, personal info and in Your From Address put the email address and saved but I can still only send out to Yahoo mail. I can't reply from Yahoo mail or send a fresh mail from Yahoo mail.

James
25/03/2007, 22:09
Do you get the same error when sending a fresh email?

PineappleJack

If I send a fresh email from Yahoo mail to my ADSL24 address I then get a mail that says

I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following

This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
