Hi Guys!

Just got connected today. Was just looking for some advice. Would it be best for me to turn interleaving off after the 10 day stabalisation period? or does it not matter. Just that im pretty sure my ping can go lower as most of the time i spend online gaming.

thanks

I turned off my interleaving, but as BT are still testing stuff on my line atm i cant give you an accurate answer, but the ping to my regular COD4 server dropped by 40ms in the browser was 60 ish last trial showed 20, so far im pretty sure my connection hasnt dropped because interleaving is off...

1400 hrs of Counter Strike .. thats some going...

Turn it off now if you wish, doesn't matter. Also, yes your pings will indeed lower!

I turned Interleaving off the day my migration was completed via the customer control panel, was turned off the following day at around exactly the same time I requested it OFF. Pings decreased to UK servers and I now constantly have <30ms ping and a latency of 10-20 also consistantly when I game.

Would turning Interleaving off increase my connection speed ?

It will reduce you maximum sync speed to 7616, but I think it could increase your sync speed if you're currently getting alot of disconnections and you have a low profile

Other way around, if you have Interleaving ON, it caps your sync speed at that rate... If you turn Interleaving OFF, it allows you to get the full 8182kbps...

Its definately if you turn Interleaving off it reduces sync rate to 7616, as thats what it says on BT Wholesale. I have interleaving off but i still sync at 8128 which can happen to some people also.

Then BT wholesale's website is mistaken. Having interleaving on lowers your max sync rate to 7616. Some routers can attain a 8096 sync, but this still results in a IP profile of 7000. Turning interleaving off is the only way to attain a sync of 8128 and the top IP profile of 7150.

I can assure you Jake, along with Cavey's confirmation - Interleaving ON lets you attain the max sync. ;)
