Hi all,

ATM i'm waiting for a mac code from pipex homecall.

Thinking of signing up here for some un-throttled non bandwidth shaped open ported broadband....Will i get that connection here?

I'm a gamer playing games like BF2, and the SimBin race games. During the day i pretend to be an IT support consultant.

Since being on the pipex connection (if you can call it that) i've been unable to play RACE WTCC online at night but all works fine during the day and BF2 has been a nightmare too, day and night i keep getting kicked from UK servers by punkbuster for excessively high pings. Between 170ms - 500ms. All on servers i used to get 25ms - 30ms pings when i had my old 1 meg aol.

Reassure me i'll get a great connection and i'll sign up asap....

Hi fellow BF2 player

I have just finished training period on my line so will let you know but when i have played it seems fine.

My AOL ping used to be 50ish now down to 30,s so it is better

Hi Oscar & welcome to the forums.

Adsl24 will give you as good as your line will take, barring Enta congestion periods when the leechers hit the 'Download' button. Great thing for gamers is there's no packet loss with Enta's systems.

The more i read the more ADSL24 sounds like the best choice.

I've been playing BF2 Since its release...I'm not that good at it but its such great fun. I like the clan site, very nice.
I'm a member of a clan called "The Black Sheep" i use the name "OscarDiealot" and yes i do...l:D Been using that same name since BF1942.
Keep an eye open for me on your server i'll try and get on over the weekend.


Looking forward to receiving my mac code even more now.

I was just on the inf only server just me and Gambit soon as a game got going i was kicked by punkbuster for having high ping 170 :mad: ....so i guess its wait until im with adsl24.

Hi M8,

Yeah i tried again and managed to stay on the server 2nd time round....I've added your clans server to my fav's so i will be on again for sure. Standard of play was very good.
The clan i'm with don't have a server atm, we gave ours up because not many of us were playing bf2. We are waiting for Enemy Territory Quake Wars to be released then plan on getting another server.
Sorry i never noticed you trying to chat but i have to concentrate on what i'm doing and often miss the chat. I'm too old to be playing online games really :D
Now i know your game name i'll try and keep an eye open on the chat.

Look forward to our next battle and if your clan use team speak will sort out joining you on it for a chat.

lot of us are waiting for quake wars but have to play something, some of the guys playing company of heroes but not my thing.

Well it's been 11 days of nagging poopex but today I finally got a mac code from them and have signed up with ADSL24. WooooooooHoooooooo!

Thanks, to all of you on this forum who have helped me decide this is where I want to be.
Hope it goes smoothly.

This morning pipex cut me off so if there is any chance of pushing BT to activate me before 3rd April i'd be grateful.

Funny how the only thing pipex can do quickly is cut you off....

I feel like i've had my legs cut off with no BB....

Well i've been connected now for 24 hours and i'm well impressed so far. Last night I played my racing game (WTCC Race) for the first time at night since buying it over a month ago. Pipex blocked some ports for it so it wouldn't work. I hosted a race session with 10 people and none of my friends moaned about any lag, all said it was running smooth as a babies bum....:D

Had only one problem and that was to do with smtp for my other email accounts. I emailed support and James replied within 15 mins with the solution. Fantastic!:D

My speeds aren't the fastest but then i live a fair distance from my local exchange so i'm not expecting it to be fast. All i want is a stable connection and that's exactly what i've got.
