View Full Version : Official hello.
Hi everybody...
I know I've been hanging around here for a few days now, but this is my first post using the ADSL24 connection.
So I'm now officially a member of the gang. Me and my sickly looking penguin.;)
Migration was painless. No down time at all. Well maybe 5 seconds for the router to swap connections.
It's a bit early to know if my speeds are much different than my old ISP. Time will tell...
Router is reporting 8128 down and 448 up.
A quick speedtest.net to London puts me at 6536 down and 382 up.
Not bad for the time of day. :D
Regards Terry.

Did the changeover take place in the wee small hours and when you switched on you had to put in the new user details in the router ?

No. The ADSL24 connection came live around 10:40am
There was no down time as I was still connected to my old ISP.
I changed the username and password in the router a few hours later when I got in from work.
I can still connect to my old ISP too (not both at the same time), as I haven't cancelled with them yet.
So I can connect to either service at the moment, depending on which user/pass I put in the router. That surprised me:eek:

I think I read somewhere that you can sometimes connect to both ISP's for a day or two.

HeHe good one...... Refund. :p
I'm just glad to be rid of Poopex.
Ah that reminds me, I should cancel the Direct Debit with them.
That should be a fun game. :D
Thanks for the welcomes, people.

I'm jealous...poopex still haven't sent me a mac code.
Keep on at them. They legally have to give it you in 5 days!

Keep hassling them. I had to.
They can give you a MAC over the phone if they want to. :D
I wasn't originally with poopex. They bought the ISP that I was with, and then proceeded to rape the customers of any useful service. I think quite a few abandoned ship. :)
Regards Terry...

Last time I looked the 5 day period was a voluntary practice. It may have changed recently though, so don't shoot me if I'm wrong.
Terry.
It's been 7 days so i phoned them today they promised to email it to me today by 5pm. Nothing probably coz their email doesnt work most of the time. I'll phone again in the morning.
Right now i'm gagging for a better connection....
