Currently I am connected with an Underlying Speed of 8Mbps MAX and I have found that my IP Profile can change quite often.

The highest my IP Profile has been so far is 750Kbps so if I was to change my Underlying Speed to a 1MB Fixed rate then would my IP Profile be fixed to the highest profile of 1000Kbps.

The reason I ask is that my router is currently synced at a fairly good rate which is:

Downstream - 1056kbps
Upstream - 320kbps

Look forward to your prompt reply.

Thanks

From what you have posted you may very well do better with a fixed speed product rather than an adslMAX (rate adaptive) one.

Please post the following to give a better indication of what your line is capable of:

Router Sync speed / Line Attenuation / Line SNR margin
[If you don't know how to locate these details, you can look up your router here (http://www.dslzoneuk.net/adsl_line_stats.php)]

My sync speed is 1056 Down and 320 Up, my Line Attenuation is 63.5 Down and 31.5 UP and SNR (is that the Noise Margin) if it is then my SNR is 8.4 Down and 8.0 Up.

To be honest, your line looks to have a fault. Your upstream should be achieving the full 448 to start with. CAn you try plugging into the BT test socket and reposting the above stats? A fixed 1Mb service would connect at 1152 down and as such at the moment your line is not able to receive this.

Right I have plugged my router into the test socket and these are the results that I got:

Sync: 992 Down and 288 Up
Attenuation: 63.5 Down and 31.5 Up
SNR: 8.8 Down and 7.0 Up

I know its the orange one but the fact is that I have 2 of them as you can see in the pictures. Do I cut both or just the one and if only one them then which one?
