Just want to say a huge thanks to the ADSL24 team for such a rapid response and a great result in sorting out the intermittent speed problems I was experiencing. I raised a ticket less than 24hrs ago, which was replied to by James within the hour, and this morning everything appears to be have been sorted out ... you can't ask for better service than that! :D

My previous profile was 6500k and speeds were remaining around 2Mbps during peak periods unless I reset the PPP, but today's results show a much better performance ...

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6462 kbps

Nice one, SC - interleaving & the "morning after" effect both sorted in one!!! :)

Looks like support here isn't half bad, then. :D

Yep - interleaving is off too :)

Mine apparently is 'Auto' - is that OK, or should it be off?

'AUTO' is fine. Some ppl get stuck in the 'ON' position and that needs sorting, as with SC.

Will having interleaving turned off help my situation?
This is my current profile:

IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 7392 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 3605 kbps

The best speed I have ever recorded is 5670kbps and the lowest 1019kbps.
The "normal" download speed is around 3000kbps but early morning it is usually above 5000kbps.
bbc ping test usually produces a 105 ms result.
With my previous ISP I was usually getting 25ms

In terms of speed: You're on a 6.5 Mbit profile by the skin of your teeth (7392). You'd need to improve synch to 7968 to get a 7 Mbit profile. Looks like your line can't make max synch as other wise it would be at 7616.....so removing interleaving might not help your speed.

Ping time: Usually interleaving adds 9 ms to pings. Your 105 to the BBC is way over what I'd expect to see (checked mine just now - 14 ms, non-interleaved).

You'd need to post your attenuation and noise margin, both up/down to give a fuller picture of your line but it's possible you actually need interleaving for some reason....removing it in that situation might cause the bottom to drop out of things.

Nice one S_C

I would request interleaving turned off too, but the "Help Desk" does'nt recognise me lol. When I try to register, it says my username is in use. If I try to log in with that username, it says it is not recognised

Beats me. Lets hope I don't have any serious probs eh?

Looks like I might have to migrate..........oops, I can't even request a MAC online. OOOOOOOHHHHH NOOOOOO it looks like I'm stuck here in limbo with no support and no way out :D

How do I know if I have interleaving on or off?

How do I know if I have interleaving on or off?

If your router reports your Downstream Path Mode as Fast, interleaving is not switched on for your line.
