View Full Version : POOPEX,doing my nut in
PIPEX,are really doing my head in now,i phoned on wed for my mac and they said no problem it should be generated within 72 hours.
I phoned back today friday and spoke to someone else about it and surprise surprise it has not been put through.
But this guy assures me he will do it,this is just the kind of on-going problems i have had with this company since i joined last may,no wonder their support have a terrible name,i just want an end to this nightmare:eek: :mad: :mad:
Things could have been worse, you could have been with the Biscit/V21/Netservices & Co fiasco last year unable to even contact anyone and no means of internet browsing.
I sympathise with you, i am having trouble after they stole my phone line provider and will not send an up to date bill since early Feb. Suspended phone line about 3 weeks ago, i have been with another provider for at least 6 weeks! Same old story reinstate direct debit, cancelled early Nov last year so they can claim what they want as an end of contract plus any outstanding.
Numerous calls to sales and customer services revealed no order going through even at 22nd Dec, then out the blue an outrageous pipex phone bill for Jan!
Yep i suppose theres always someone worse of lol,but on the brighter side i have been using a free phone number i found for pipex,0800 1075902:)
On a brighter side i had some fun with their accounts dept and got it off me chest numerous times over, they put the phone down:D
Update, at last they have sent a final bill, only took them 7 weeks. Now i can be rid of the accounts and poopex once and for all:)
Jock, I was with pipex until last month. When I phoned them to ask for my mac code they told me the same as you and said they would send it by email to me.
I waited the 72 hours, no emailed mac code so I phoned again, and they gave it me over the phone as well as saying again they would email it to me. That never happened but I wasn't bothered, coz I was leaving to join this isp and its a world of difference!
When i asked Tiscali for my MAC code they surprised me by emailing it to me within a couple of hours. Turns out it didnt work and when ADSL24 gave it to BT they rejected it!
Yeah, I must admit we do get a fair number of MAC codes rejected by BT. This is either because of:
a) Old ISP gave bad MAC code to start with
b) Old ISP gave wrong MAC to wrong customer
c) Old ISP gave ....
etc. Don't you love it.

I got my MAC within 24 hours.
That's about the only good thing I can say about Plusnet.

when i was talking to Zen they said a good ISP can give you yuor Mac over the phone, when i left them they said that they would email it :P just makes me giggle, but know how you feel i had a trauma of a time with an ISP called bulldog such a nightmare, glad you managed to get yuor mac, very glad you gave them stick personally i recomend looking up directors phone numbers which i beleave must be made available or some such and directing floods of calls and emails to them as well usually gets a response any way ;)
