Yo guys,
We are now offering hardware for sale (http://adsl24.co.uk/hardware.php), preconfigured for new/current customers incase you don't want to get your hands dirty. We are offering Speedtouch (single port, 4 port and wireless 4 port) routers.
The speedtouches are known to be very very versatile and based off the tried and tested Broadcom chipset. These are known to work very well with ADSL2+ as Be* provide Speedtouches with their connections.

The page above contains all the information you need and the order form.

tl;dr
We now offer cheap pre-configged hardware for sale. Using the Broadcom chipset that is proved to be solid....

Any questions?

Very nice .. and about time too!

As I said in the shoutbox, can I have an ADSL24 domed badge for my DG834GT please? ;)

And will there be any additional ADSL24 Apparel in the future? :D

How about some nice ADSL24 boxer shorts :D? Not sure where it'd be best to put the logo though ;).

I have had a speedtouch for a while the 585 and it is a great bit of kit, ok I have a older version ad I have no idea what it will be like on ADSL2+, but it have been switched on for almost 24 hours a day for the last couple of years apart from a month when I was decorating and not a problem.

Not planing to replace it for a while. what I want to know is what on earth have Thomson done to the case of the new one? It is horrible. my old one is a nice black unit. Have the new ones got key holes on the back so they can be put onto the wall?

Good price, even for non-customers, if I was buying a new one I would certainly get one from you.

We're having quite a number of orders and have just received another batch so if you are thinking about getting one make your move soon as it takes a few days for us to order more in!

Just make sure you setup WPA protection rather than WEP. Those speedtouch routers are very subseptible to packet injection attacks with that Bactrack 2.0 software.

Yea, we have run plenty of tests on WEP vs WPA (here (http://adsl24.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=4855)).

All the routers are set up to use WPA/WPA2 which ever the client is able to use.
Its also not Speedtouch routers. Any are vulnerable if they are using wep with enough packets injected anything wep (64/128) can be broken.

tl;dr All routers are WPA/WPA2 secured.

yes your right its not just speedtouch but they are one the easyest, a reason why i dont like those BT homehubs they are based on the old speedtouch 7E routers and they send em out with WEP :( I reflashed my old hub with the original 7e frimare and sold it to a mate lol

585v7 order went in Monday - it arrived Tuesday.

I even returned from what was supposed to be a weeks' busman's holiday to get it going. 200 UK A-road miles in 3.5 hours - not too bad.... :o

Anyway - unplugged my old DG632, plugged in the 585 and was connected within seconds.

The wireless took a little longer - especially as I didn't have the right password... (thanks, James, I got in...) but that, too, was then trouble free. Won't be being used unless absolutely necessary, though.

It's not that I don't trust my 30 character wireless password - I just don't trust wireless as a whole. Having been in the secure type of telecomms trade, I will never trust wireless unless or until I can use that kind of data encryption. If the GRU couldn't de-crypt it, Fred Fingers hasn't a hope. ;)

But that's by the by - great service, nice hardware :D
