Hi all

We have the opportunity to start stocking the brand new Speedtouch 585v7n routers. These are identical to the 585v7 routers but with the new Wireless 802.11n technology (faster wireless speed and greater range) and 2 antennas.

I definately would be interested if the price is right, my current Linksys WAG200G is being a bit of a bitch lately, so I'm looking into a new router.. ;)

I wouldn't be (just being honest :P). If I was to upgrade my home network I would definitely be after gbit wired. A 10/100mbit switch in a wireless-n router just seems weak.

Same as sparx

Depends on the price, weather it would be worth it..

I normally buy me routers off ebay lmao

As the 585n has only just been released in the UK the supply costs are high, however we will probably be able to sell them brand new and pre-configured for £74.99 (It costs us £66 just to buy them, excluding delivery costs at the moment but I'm sure they will come down in price given time)

Any interest?

But gigabit is pointless for 99% of people, especially in an ADSL router as the ADSL itself is only a max of 24Mbps on ADSL2+

Most network people would just buy a gigabit switch and plug the router into a single port as the routing between the two doesn't need gigabit :)

Also, ethernet would still be faster than a wireless-n access point as real-world wireless speeds are much less.

Remember that the 802.11n standard isn't due to be ratified until June 2009, so this will be so-called Pre-N hardware.

We are now going to sell this for £68.99 (£6 off original price!) inc. VAT for current and new customers who sign up.

It will be added to the hardware page shortly.
