Didn't think it was being released till 6pm our time
Cant even get the windows ftp to load up. They might be blocking it till release time
Couldn't download it via the link, but pasted the link into my ftp program, and it downloads with no problems.
Installed, but this is not the final version, it is Firefox 3 rc3

I guess it's in prep for the official release at 6pm BST.
If you follow links from the firefox pages you still get FF2 (a lot of timeouts on FF webpages at the moment...).
But if you download now I guess it won't count towards their 'downloads record' palaver :-)

Nooooo don't download now! That'll ruin the record attempt!! :(:(
They are RC3 anyway not final ;)

http://www.filehippo.com/download_firefox/
Stop linking to that site, that isn't the final copy (unless the final copy is RC3 with absolutely no changes at all).
MD5 Hash of RC3: c971bb2273d24d62dd15dcdbd6030ea3
MD5 Hash of "Final" from filehippo: c971bb2273d24d62dd15dcdbd6030ea3
MD5 Hash of "Final" from softpedia: c971bb2273d24d62dd15dcdbd6030ea3
They are all the same, meaning they are the exact same file. As in, the exact same file as RC3 that has been out for a week.

J***S REINES!!
Who died and made you lord god!
Then why does filehippo say it's firefox 3.0 with RC3 as an OLD version?
I am simply saying that your link is not the final, maybe if you'd actually pay attention instead of trying to spam it to everyone you can you'd understand?
Then why does filehippo say it's firefox 3.0 with RC3 as an OLD version?
Well obviously they are wrong and just trying to be the first to have the link instead of actually making sure they are right?
Surely the obvious question if it was the final, would be, why does filehippo have it before mozilla do?

Just out of pure interest now...
Was my link ok, because I have just downloaded it from Mozilla, and both filesizes (mine from filhippo and FF download) match EXACTLY, right down to the last byte.
Just wondering if the link I posted was ok
Oh, and it wasn't spam to post it in "networking and internet" was it really, I did not see this topic, because I fail to see what a browser has to do with an operating system, closer than it has to do with the internet.
But apologies anyway for double posting, now I just want to see if I am right about my link with Filehippo

For those who use AVG 8 Free, it seems that Firefox 3 may not be compatible with AVG Safe Search.

Not sure, though the MD5 hash of the one from filehippo and softpedia is different from the one from the mozilla site, which means something is different at least.

One new feature I like, is when you zoom in (either with keyboard or CTRL+)
Not only does it increase the text, but now it increases the images too

not had any such problems, and I've been running it as my main browser since beta 5
Haven't found that at all, and I've been using it since beta :/ It was buggy for a bit on Linux but hasn't really had any problems for me on Windows.

The same vulnerability is in FF2.X as well it seems.
Mozilla Firefox 3.0 Vulnerability (http://dvlabs.tippingpoint.com/blog/2008/06/18/vulnerability-in-mozilla-firefox-30)
I'm assuming that this is without any Addons installed. If you've got something like NoScript, you're safer from this sort of attack? :s

Quote:
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code. Not unlike most browser based vulnerabilities that we see these days, user interaction is required such as clicking on a link in email or visiting a malicious web page.
While Mozilla is working on a fix, we wont be divulging anything else until a patch is available.
Firefox versions 2 & 3 will only be safe when Mozilla addresses the issue of the vulnerability.
