Is it realy worth getting interleaving taken off what real benefit it there and is there a downside?
Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin (dB): 13.6 9.0
Attenuation (dB): 21.0 12.0
Output Power (dBm): 19.7 11.9
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 10624 1052
Rate (Kbps): 7616 832
K (number of bytes in DMT frame): 239 27
R (number of check bytes in RS code word): 16 16
S (RS code word size in DMT frame): 1 8
D (interleaver depth): 16 2
Delay (msec): 4 4
Your data rate would go up to 8128 with Interleaving off and your ping rates will halve.
You have a great line so there would be no downside to turning it off! I'd do it if it were my line...

How do i go about it?
Put in a ticket to Support to request it. On the face of it, your line doesn't need interleaving.
Interleaving generally adds 9 ms to latency so, depending on your ping rate right now, it may be a tad optimistic saying it will halve when interleaving is off. ;)

Gavin, this has now been put through to BT and should be off within 48hrs :)

Interleaving off this morning well within the 48 hrs james quoted great!!!!!
havent noticed much diffrence yet speed wise or pings the only diffrence i have seen is no hec erros since Interleaving taken off use to get a couple over three or four days before.
Your pings should have improved, generally by 9 ms.
Are you sure it's HEC you're talking about, rather than FEC? FEC is to be expected with interleaving, just shows it's working. If the numbers were small it's good evidence the line never needed interleaving.
The speed benefit only comes after you've had the improved synch for 2-3 days, when your profile rises.

Yes getting small amount of hec erros but only on upload, number of errors has dropped each day. Had no problems that i have noticed.
speeds are alot better pings better than ever.
