Hi all,
This might be a silly question!
I signed up to transfer my calls and line rental to TalkTalk about a month ago. I'm just a bit worried about the requirement for a BT line for the ADSL24 service.
Will my line still be classed as a BT line even although I will be paying TalkTalk for both calls and line rental?
It's not to late to cancel this transfer, but I would really prefer to change to TalkTalk (for the free international calls)
Any help is appreciated! Cheers
If you'd like to message me your phone number i'll run a few checks - but i'm sure its a still a BT line underneath and not any LLU offering.
James
Have a look at these been with them 5 weeks or more after Pipex nicked my phone line off Tiscali, the easy way out.

I like a BT line so I can use 1899 com or Phonecheap or some of the others, to ring landlines or mobiles.
Sometimes when you transfer to someone else you're limited who you can use, sometimes only the company you've transferred your line to when making calls.

Thanks Jon,
The main attraction with TalkTalk is the free calls to Canada on their international call plan, so I still think I am better off with them.
I called them today about the BT line thing, and they confirmed that my line will still be classed as a BT line, so no probs here.
And thanks for your help James, much appreciated.

How much extra are you paying for line rental and the international plan though with Talk Talk?
If you stick with BT and just pay minimum line rental (think it's £11 per month when paying via DD) you can then use a call overider such as 18185 (http://www.call18185.co.uk/index2.php) and this will not only give you calls to Canada for 0.5p per minute, but also cheaper mobile rates and free calls to landline numbers (subject to a 5p connection fee).
I guess it depends how often, and for how long, you call Canada but it's worth checking out :)

That's how I do it.
I'm not a great lover of BT but if there is a fault on the line you can contact them and get their engineers out.
I don't make that many calls so 1899 is handy for me.
And if someone comes along with cheaper rates than 1899 you can give them a try.

I've just called TalkTalk to cancel the provisional order and signed up with 18185.
Just going by TalkTalks customer services, I've done the right thing!! :)
