My sync rate and profile have been changing a lot over the last month. This table shows the position:

When I look at the connection logs, I see that there were 12 disconnections this morning between 02:20 and 05:18when nobody was using the computer, with a further 2 in the afternoon. I checked my router ( Netgear dg834PN ) and saw that the stats were odd. I unplugged it for 5 minutes and switched back on again. The before and after figures were as follows:

Attenuation 19/10 20/11
Noise Margin 13.2/15 10.4/22
According to the BT speedtester, my IP Profile is 4500, the connection rates are 7616/448 and the actual throughput was 3813.
I use the master socket and there are no extensions so I only connect wires 2 and 5. The quiet test shows exactly that and I cannot hear any noise on the line.
I do not understand why there should be so many disconnections although I appreciate that the sync rate will reduce as a result and should come up again ( The last time something similar happened, it took three weeks for the sync figure to rise).
Can anyone tell me why the figures changed so much today? Is it possible to alter the sync, and so increase the profile, by using the DMT tool or is it best just to sit and wait?
