Hello James/all

My router cannot connect since about 11pm last night. Just stuck at 'starting PPP'

Any ideas? It's the first time I've ever lost connection

Try leaving your router switched off for about 45 minutes.

no joy. Still not connecting at the wan :(

Checked my phone line too and even took all the phones out of the filters

Try another router would be my next step ;) Not very helpful if you can't lay your hands on one of course or try that router on another computer/line.

Can you post the log from your router please?

I'll try and get a log.

While I do that I have actually been able to connect using bt_test_login@adsllogin.co.uk connects.

I have tried my user/pass again after this but still fails

You need to call support on 01457 600025. Tell them that you can connect using the test login but not your own one.

I had the same problem, lots of disconnections then speed was unbearably slow till the point of no connection.
I spoke to support who will raise a fault with BT. However, after tesing the line with another modem/router I found everything to be back to normal. Anyway, to cut a long story short I bought a new router/modem. Speed is not fantastic, but I guess I have to go through the re-training thing because of all the disconnections.

Raise a ticket with support.
